A Big bags (fibc) or flexible containers are large woven polypropylene bags (raffia) intended for large volumes of cargo (up to 3000kg), and serve to transport or store products or waste, which may be dangerous or non-hazardous.
Big Bags do not have a fixed cost. Given that EmbTec is the manufacturer of these products, it can make a specific project for each customer. The cost depends on many variables, such as model, size, load capacity, certifications required among others. Some customer variables are also determinants for the cost, such as quantity and place of delivery. Contact us and ask for a quotation on our Budget section!
There are Big Bags (FIBC) developed only for a "One Way” use and others for "Multi-Way” uses. However, Big Bags (FIBC) do not have a predetermined useful life. It depends on the corresponding project. There are designs for One-Way use and Multi-Way, when Big Bags that can be used more than once.
The One Way Big Bags are designed under technical specifications so the container only supports one use.
The Multi-Way Big Bags are designed to be reused, having in their design a specific type of raw materials to withstand the damages of many uses.
The load allowed on the big bags depends on each project. EmbTec has packages approved for the transport of dangerous goods from 130kg to 1500kg. However, the big bags for non-hazardous products support a load capacity of around 3000kg.
No. Dangerous liquid products cannot be placed in Big Bags, but solids contaminated with liquids can, as in the case of tows, PPE, paint cans or solvent. For this type of product, the Big Bag should be accompanied with an inner “liner”, which protects against liquid, dust, and air. Waste can also be packed in Big Bags.
For EmbTec, each customer is unique; therefore, we develop a project for each company, because we understand that each client has its particularities and specific needs.

When using a Big Bag in a support, either the Big Bag fabric or the liner should not be punctured or cut.
The Big Bag cannot be exposed to extreme temperatures and its load limit should not be exceeded.

Hazardous products are those that present some type of risk to living beings or to the environment, being of biological, radioactive or chemical origin.
Through ANTT 5947 (former ANTT 5232) it is possible to find out if the product is considered dangerous. Hazardous products are assigned to UN numbers and appropriate shipping names according to their classification risk and composition. If your product or waste is listed in this document, having a UN number, it is a dangerous product. If it is not on this list, it is a non-hazardous product.
To determine which certification your Big Bag needs, first of all, it is extremely important to know which product will be packed in the Big Bag and to which location it will be shipped.
If the product to be packaged is dangerous (Class I) it must be packed in Big Bags that are INMETRO or MARINES certified. What defines which of these two certifications must be used is the place of destination of these products. In case the product travels by highways or railways within the national territory, the packages must be homologated by INMETRO. Otherwise, if the product is exported and cross international waters the homologation must be from the MARINES. The NBR 16029: 2012 Certification is used when the packaging is destined for non-hazardous goods (Class II).
ANTT is the abbreviation for the National Agency for Land Transport. ANTT is an autarchy under a special regime, present in all national territory through Inspection Stations and Regional Units. The purpose of ANTT is to regulate, supervise and inspect the activities related to road and rail transportation in the national territory.
